4 Tips to Protect Hair from Salt Water Naturally

Tanned skin, rested complexion, swept hair with pretty reflections… When you return from vacation, you are radiant. Except that on a closer look, your mane seems weakened. What to do to find healthy and revitalized hair?

Summer at the beach is often destructive for your pretty hair. Indeed, the sun and sea water cocktail tends to dry out the hair, especially if the hair is naturally dry. To regain healthy hair and try to keep the golden highlights hard won this summer, here are some simple and natural tips to reproduce at home.

Cutting the damaged ends is certainly the best way to give a boost to devitalized hair. It will also make your mane grow faster.

1. Organic Hair oils

They are your best ally when you return from vacation. A massage with one or two tablespoons of organic oil is a perfectly suitable treatment for dry hair. Leave the oil on the hair for 10 to 15 minutes under a hot towel. To find out which oil is best suited to your hair’s needs, here is the list of their respective properties:

Olive oil: it nourishes and redraws the strands.

Sweet almond oil: it protects and soothes irritated scalps.

Shea and coconut oil: they nourish the hair in depth and are ideal for shine.

Avocado oil: it is rich in vitamins and promotes hair growth.

Argan oil: it protects, hydrates and revitalizes the hair.

2. Homemade Hair Massages

When returning from a beach holiday, it is important to apply a massage to the lengths and ends once or twice a week in order to replenish the hair fiber and nourish it. You can use an organic massage sold in supermarkets and specialty stores, or prepare one with natural, simple and effective ingredients.

Banana Honey Massage for Dry Hair: Mix a banana with 2 tablespoons of honey, then apply the massage for 30 minutes.

Avocado Massage:  Prepare the massage by mixing the flesh of an avocado with an egg and two tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil, spread over the entire length, massage in and let sit for thirty minutes to maximize the effects.

Sweet almond massage: Beat an egg with 3 tablespoons of sweet almond oil and add 3 tablespoons of powdered almonds. Apply to the hair, leave to act for 30 minutes then do your usual shampoo.

3. Beer in rinse water

To regain healthy, voluminous hair, you can rinse it with beer. Be careful not to use it too often, however, as the alcohol contained in the beer could dry out your hair. Pour a glass of lager on your mane then rinse quickly with water.

4. Favor foods rich in protein, zinc and vitamin E

If health comes from the plate, so does beauty! So to find beautiful hair, we rely on quality proteins such as eggs, meat, fish, seafood and lentils . Nothing more effective for replenishing keratin. In order to stock up on iron and zinc, you fill your plate with lentils, meat, pure cocoa, shellfish and fish. Vitamin E is found in green vegetables, wheat germ, bread, fish and oysters.
