#1. Even the number of coaches

No chance of you getting to see either Number 5 or Number 7. DMRC has only two types of coaches named as the “driver car” and the “motor car”. It only has only Number 6 or Number 8 types of coaches. They both serve as a single unit and cannot be separated at any cost. The coaches are only 6 or 8 and nothing more than that.

2. Absence of dustbins

The one thing which amazes any traveler is that despite the absence of dustbins in the DMRC, the area always looks so spic and span and you will not find any litter anywhere in any of the platforms. This is something that Modiji would be proud of as he believes in Swach Bharat Abhiyaan. 

3. DMRC Smart card

This is not known to many but DMRC and ICICI have together launched a debit card that has an auto-recharge facility and it gives 10% discount on metro fares and shops at metro stations. Also, you are sure to find many cashback and refunds which will make your journey quite cheerful. 

4. Assistance to the visually impaired people

Many might have seen yellow strips made on the floors and apart from scrubbing your shoes to clean them, these also have a useful purpose to serve. These yellow strips are made for visually impaired people to show them paths to the trains. These yellow strips are directly related to the lifts and trains making it easy for them to move. 

5. Rental bicycles

Delhi Metro takes care of your needs even after deboarding of trains. A lot of these metro stations provide bicycles on rent at just meager amount of Rs. 10 for 14 hours. But surely you cannot leave behind your ID proof to be able to hire cycles from the stand. 

6. Wheelchair facility

All the stations have ramps to support wheelchairs to move easily on the platforms. The ramps are built right at the entrances so that wheelchair people can roll themselves around the stations. DMRC has been built quite methodologically and this is one proof of it! 

7. Neutral Zones

DMRC has this power shift thing where at some stations the AC and power of the trains go off suddenly. These are power shifts done by DMRC themselves for neutral supply zones. These substations or neutral zones supply power to the metro stations since the required volte of 25,000 cannot be fulfilled from a single station. 

8. Distance

Delhi Metro has 200 trains running every day in different directions of Delhi. All of those 200 trains cover a distance of 69,000 km every day. To put it in clear words, the earth’s total circumference is 40,075km!

9. Sari Guard Features

DMRC commuters are always in a rush and Delhi Metro understands the needs clearly. Apart from the presence of emergency stop buttons, the DMRC escalators have sari guard features which deflect any loose clothes from getting trapped in the metro stations. This saves from accidents happening. 

10. Habit of punctuality

Delhi Metro runs with full punctuality and it reaches all stations at the desired time mentioned. It helps us reach our destinations on time. This is one of the very few things which is punctual in Delhi and DMRC should be praised for it!
