India is always famous for creating world-famous leaders. Not only men but India has a list of great women leaders who have ruled the country and are still ruling it. All of them are geniuses in true sense. With a rapid increase of women leaders in the country, one thing is clear. It clears the picture that India is no more patriarchal society.

Indira Gandhi:

Born on 19th Day of November 1917, she was a lady of strong personality. She belonged to a political family. The former Prime Minister of India is also known by the title of “Iron Lady of India”. Till now she is the only lady who held the office of India.

She never compromised with the wrong things. However, we lost her at the age of 66. She was well-known for her political ruthlessness and fantastic centralization power. She had two sons,-Rajiv Gandhi and Sanjay Gandhi.

Mother Teresa:

Another lady who will always be remembered by everyone on this earth is Mother Teresa. Saint Teresa of Calcutta was born on 26th August, 1910.

Sometimes it feels amazing when we think that how an Albanian lady came to India and started some revolutionary works. She was blessed with profound empathy. Within a short time, the lady clad in a white and blue-bordered sari became a famous personality through her good deeds.

She opened a school for the orphanage that is still functioning successfully. She always looked after the poor and oppressed class of the society.

Pratibha Patil:

Born on 19th December, 1934 Pratibha Patil is an Indian politician who became the 12th President of India.

She was a lady who had already made a bright career. She did a lot of women’s rights in India. She sacrificed her whole life for women’s empowerment and betterment.

Soon after her retirement from the post of President she started to do various types of charity works that are associated with women welfare.

Aruna Asaf Ali:

Aruna Asaf Ali was born on 16 July, 1909. She is known by the name of Grand Old Lady of Independence movement. She took active part in the independence movement. She took an active participation in various types of movements that were organized by the All India Congress.

Apart from this, she fought boldly for women’s empowerment and education. During the independence movement, she worked actively for the poor and downtrodden people of the society.

She was a true fighter for Indian independence. She was also conferred many awards and recognitions for her extraordinary sacrifice during the independence movement.

Najma Heptulla:

Najma Heptulla is also a very renowned figure in the Indian Political history. She was born on 13 th April 1940. Currently, she is serving as the Governor in the State of Manipur.

Her first step came into this political field as a member of the All India National Congress. She also served as a member of Rajya Sabha in three states namely, Maharashtra, Rajasthan and Bhopal.

She has written several things for human society and sustainable development. She is a bold lady with a powerful personality.

Sushma Swaraj:

A great political leader and a Supreme Court lawyer took birth in the year 1952 at Ambala Cantonment. He served as one of the most influential political leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party.

He was also associated with a lot of respectable post in legislative and administrative areas. Her death was a great loss for the nation. She entered politics in the year 1977 and was active until her death in 2019.

Vasundhara Raje:
